In this article I want to give you some auto repair tips and advice so you will be more informed about your automobile. When it comes to auto repair tips and advice I wish I knew a lot more about my cars growing up. Maybe the money I would of saved on auto repairs would of made me a rich man by now. Some tips and advice for taking your vehicle into a auto repair shop would be to have your car’s information handy. Usually the first question that comes up is, “what type of car do you have”. This information gives the mechanic a quicker evaluation of your problem. With this he will began to evaluate the condition of your car.
The auto mechanic’s thinking starts to work when he finds out what kind of car you have. The auto repair service you receive will be more efficient and the time you spend in his auto repair shop will be minimized on how much information you can provide to him on your description and tips of your car problems. And believe it or not your chances of being ripped off by this auto repair shop will be minimized also. The tips and advice I am providing here will show the auto repair shop that you are well informed on the type of car you have and will seem like you know how auto repairs work by knowing your car’s year make and model only.
A dishonest auto mechanic can use this first conversation with you to determine if you are aware of your vehicle’s information or not. Their initial thinking is if you don’t know your vehicles year make and model and engine size then you don’t know really what’s under your hood. So if all possible, have this information stored where you can have access to it when you take your auto in for repairs. Believe me the more knowledgeable you seem concerning your car the less likely you will be ripped off by these dishonest auto repair shops!
In one of my earlier auto repair articles I mentioned to ask to see your old auto parts when they are finished. Even though you don’t know what you’re looking at, this tip gives the auto repair shop the idea that you are a very careful shopper when ever it comes to auto repairs. So my advice to you is to ask them to save your old parts. You can go a step further and ask the auto repair shop to show you the newly installed car part. I know these tips and advice that I am providing you here sounds a little crazy but believe me when I say these auto repair shops will treat you with caution when they are repairing your vehicle.
My advice and tip for you to save money would be to buy your own automotive code reader. If you haven’t received your own vehicle code reader by now, you should plan on getting one real soon. I had auto repair problems on my vehicle this past winter when I could of used any tip or advice standing out in the cold trying to figure out what was wrong with my car. The check engine light began to flash and I had no clue as to why. I finally figured out using my code reader that one of my oxygen sensors wasn’t heating up fast enough. I hope these auto repair tips and advice will help you some day when you really need them. For more car care information please visit http://ift.tt/1uE4zCr.”
