How to Deal With Relationship Depression

When your relationship has just gone through a break up, relationship depression is a common problem. If you’ve managed to keep together after all you have been through, you may think that you should be happy, and not depressed as you are.


When you were terrified of losing your partner, the fact that your relationship has survived a rough period should leave you happy but you are sad and depressed and it is difficult to understand why. .


Where there was cheating in the relationship, you are likely still emotionally very fragile. If you have gone through a break up or a period apart suffered more from this, while you decided what to do, than during the cheating. When you have been cheated on you know what it is to suffer from what is perhaps the most painful event that can happen during a relationship. Where you have forgiven your partner for cheating on you so that the relationship could continue, it is going to take time for the wounds to heal completely. You are going to suffer depression while you recover.


If your partner forgave you for your cheating, you may be depressed as you start to understand the ill you have done to your partner. You fell that they are following your every move because they no longer trust you. You may be sad as you recognize that you should have left the relationship and you have only just realized this.


Depression can still strike for other reasons than cheating. It may have been that your partner left you or was thinking of leaving you. You’re back together again or they decided not to leave but the idea that they were planning a different life has caused you considerable pain.


Fear can also bring on relationship depression. You are afraid that the relationship will not hold together and you will eventually break up. You remember how bad things were when you nearly split up and imagine how much worse it will be if you ultimately decide to break up. It is normal that this fear can make you feel depressed.


Finally, the worst experience for anyone, and the most hurtful, is a break up; and this for whatever the reason. If you stayed together there was always the risk of the ultimate rupture as things were still so tense between you. At the end of a relationship your suffer emotionally, rather as if you have been through a bereavement of someone close to you.


In life it is very difficult to go through a break up or separation. When you are able to work things out, you should feel fortunate. So make sure this relationship is really for you and do everything to strengthen it. The relationship depression will pass
